EluCad: Simply programme variable macros

Adjust processing positions automatically on part lengths. A performance capable programming software such as EluCad can automate work cycles and make time intensive manual programming redundant

A door and window manufacturer wanted to use this option. The business produces, among other things, doors with 2 – 4 hinges. There are standardised processed for the band holes, their position changes however depending on the height of door produced. With the assistance of EluCad programming software the programmes run so that after input of part length, the position of the processing is adjusted – without the influence of the machine operator.

 

“One can now call up all jobs on the profile series and input the appropriate part length. Afterwards the programme can be run immediately” explains Ferdinando De Santis, applications technician at elusoft GmbH. De Santis programmed the desired function into EluCad for the customer, and made the customer's machine operators aware of the extensive options in the programming software in a two day basic training. “When the variable programming of the macros is tuned once, the work cycle on the processing centre is lightened significantly and permanently", emphasised the elusoft employee about the cost-saving long term effects of his support operations.

 

Optimisation software

 

EluCad is a software that simplifies programming of profile processing centres. The better a machine operator commands CAM software the more successfully he can automate his work. Results such as reduced manufacturing times, less rejects or better work results reduce costs and ensure the business a leap over the competition. EluCad is a software that among other things, highlights the largest possible flexibility, is operator-friendly and allows practical orientated functionality. Profile processing means to remove material from the profile rod where the customer would not like material to be. EluCad simplifies this process. Profile views can be uploaded from a profile database, new profiles can be simply loaded into the programme. Processes such as holes, circle pockets, slotted holes or grooves can be called up by button. For these standard processes, the programme queries data such as length, width, diameter or immersion depth in transparent input fields. With data for axis positioning, processing can be quickly and precisely placed. Equally as transparent, arbitrary programmable contours – so called free-forms, which are created by querying for required parameters by the software. EluCad independently calculates the tracks for clearing standard processes or determines that firstly drilling is carried out and then threads are cut.
